In the morning, Valeska finds a package on the doorstep - another gift from Victor. She brings it inside, then heads to school. At lunch, Bree asks where Julian is, and Valeska makes an excuse. On the way back to class, she bumps into Harold, who asks about Julian and if she had any luck vampire hunting. After class, she heads in to work. Julian wakes, then heads in to work, where he’s promptly told to take the night off since he looks ill.

Valeska follows him out, and they both talk. Julian takes her to pick up lunch for people, and they spot Harold at the food place. Harold seems to know what Julian is, and asks a few questions before having them go back to his place on campus. They agree, and drop food off before heading there. They talk some more, with Julian agreeing to be experimented on in order to try to not be a vampire anymore.

In the basement, they find a high-tech science lab, and learn Harold used to work for something called Iteration X. Julian is put into a chamber while the experiment runs, and Valeska and Harold talk more and drink a little. The process takes roughly five hours. Julian seems to be human again, and promises to come back weekly for checkups. Since there was no cell service in the basement, Valeska messages Gideon and Bree to let them know she’s ok, and Julian texts Mark, learning his car had broken down, and he couldn’t make it anyway. They both head home. Valeska texts Victor and has him come home.

Julian wakes in the morning, feeling sluggish, and jots that down as somewhat abnormal, per Harold’s instructions. Victor has breakfast ready for Valeska. They talk over breakfast, and he expresses he wants to be able to fake it for her, for their relationship. At lunch Julian gives an excuse to Bree and Ash about why he’d been absent. After they leave, Valeska asks Julian how he’s doing, and he explains about the grogginess, and feeling a little hungrier than usual. After kinesiology class, Arjun reminds Valeska of their training later that night and gives directions.
